Ahsan Arthiste-Pierce was born and raised on the outskirts of NYC, in Queens, New York. He grew up in a family of 5, being the oldest of 3 boys. During his early childhood, his family made the journey from Queens to Maricopa, and Ahsan spent most of his childhood and adult life in Arizona.
During his time in Maricopa, he learned to appreciate the culture and cuisine that surrounded him (especially the birria tacos and burritos) and grew to call Arizona his home. After finishing high school, he continued his education in Flagstaff at Northern Arizona University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, and a minor in Biology.
During and shortly after college, he spent tireless hours working as a pharmacy technician while he tried to find his footing in the professional world. The mindless hours and the constant clocking in and out became tedious and unbearable for him. There, he eventually realized his passion for business and began his pursuit. Ahsan combined his newfound interest for business and the demand for cars in the greater phoenix area to create his own business, Modern Energy.
When creating Modern Energy, Ahsan was particularly interested in providing a service that grew with the innovation and change of the Phoenix area. Living in Maricopa, he understood the importance of owning a reliable vehicle to support you, whether it’s taking your younger brother to basketball practice or a simple drive to work. In October 2021, Ahsan and his Aunt worked together as business partners and listed their first car on the Turo Platform, the 2021 Tesla Model 3. Today, Ahsan has built his network and has partnered up to manage many more cars on Turo, and hopes to continue increasing his fleet.
